Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) and Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) launched the Institute of Science Tokyo Inaugural Giving Campaign on July 1, 2024. The campaign will run for one calendar year.
Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo) will be born on October 1, 2024, following the planned merger between TMDU and Tokyo Tech. The Institute of Science Tokyo Inaugural Giving Campaign is an important initial step in the formation of the new university, and in “advancing science and human wellbeing to create value for and with society,” the mission of Science Tokyo.

One calendar year from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025
Use of funds
- Advancement of convergence science: Fostering collaboration and supporting academic research projects across disciplines
- Assistance for societal solution-oriented projects: Supporting innovations that address directly the challenges faced by society, such as environment, health, and education-related issues
- Development of talent and the Science Tokyo culture: Nurturing the next generation of leaders equipped with a rich humanity and creative problem-solving skills
